Priya has performed in shows in Paris, Geneva, Manila, Cape Town, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Pondicherry.
She started training with Situ Singh Buehler in Delhi and also joined the conservatory in Tolouse, France. She had started her career as a theatre actor and later took to singing in soprano.
Mumbai-born Aude Priya Engel will be singing the arias. You’ll get to hear soprano arias like Puccini’s Turandot and La Bohème, Donizetti’s Lucia, Verdi’s La Traviata and Rigoletto, Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, Tchaikovsky’s Eugen Onegin, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Massenet’s Mabib and Offenbac’s Les Contes d'Hoffmann. That apart, the show will also present the journey of a woman from the state of idealised love to the disillusionment she faces through the most famous opera arias. It argues: women are either killed or circumstances in the plot drive them to suicide. Opera, or The Undoing of Women by Catherine Clement is a work that tries to put forth how women are treated in opera.
